After an audition process with over 80 participants, the Footloose audition panel are happy to announce the cast of AMTC’s production of Footloose. Congratulations to everyone involved!
The first rehearsal will be next Monday 7th August in the School of Arts Annex building, starting at 6:30 – 9:30pm.
The Footloose Audition Panel would like to thank the over 80 people who auditioned to be involved in AMTC’s production of Footloose. The talent level was exceptional, and the number of new people interested in being involved in the company was extremely pleasing and exciting!
While everyone is expecting the advertised cast announcement today, this unfortunately has to be delayed until after Callbacks, which have been pushed back to Thursday to accommodate all involved. If all goes well, the cast list will be posted here either late Thursday night (or early Friday). There are only a few people involved in the callbacks, as most roles have been cast. The cast list will also go up on Facebook around the same time.
Thank you for your interest in being a part of AMTC’s production of Footloose. To start the process, we ask you to complete an Expression of Interest to audition for Footloose. The EOI can be found here.
Once completed, you will receive an email indicating an audition time. This may take a few days to sort out while EOIs are being received. You will be asked to reply to the email, so we know you are booked in. The email may contain other relevant information. Following the end of auditions, successful auditionees will be contacted by phone.
Most people who are auditioning will be asked to attend one of 2 dance workshops. They will be easy and fun, but will assist the choreography team evaluate dance skill levels. Video/s have been prepared for you to become familiar with the Dance Workshop choreography. The video/s can be found here.

Members can buy tickets from the 30th June at 10:00am and will be sent a link with instructions on how to access the tickets. Everyone else can visit the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre website or call the box office from the 7th July at 10:00am. Opening night is 28th September.
We had one of our “JAM Fam” draw Georgia Coleman’s name out of the member’s bowl last month. Congratulations to Georgia who won two tickets to The Sound of Music!
The draw for Frozen Jr. happens next week at JAM. Two tickets and two programs are up for grabs for one lucky member. Your membership needs to be approved and paid for to be eligible, but there’s still time to join!

On Tuesday 21st February, AMTC held our Annual General meeting at the Youth Hall and the new committee was elected.
Our new Constitution allows us up to 11 committee members and we are pleased to announce our new committee which is the largest we have had yet.

The AGM also recognised those who achieved success at the recent CAT (Canberra Area Theatre) Awards and handed out the certificates.

Following the JAM Information session held at the Nowra School of Arts this afternoon (15th Feb), it is necessary to enrol interested students in JAM for 2023. Participating students need to be between 10 and 15 during show week, in late September.
For those who missed the information session, a summary of important information can be found here, and should be read before proceeding – please print and keep this information easily accessible.
There are 2 steps to complete enrolment:

Although JAM is free, it is mandatory that each participating student has their own libretto (script). They are $20 each. Also, you may wish to purchase an optional Frozen Jr show T-shirt/s (this can be for your child, and / or yourself). They are $25 each.

Now that the Sound of Music Information night has happened, the link below will take you to the Audition form. Please complete it as best you can, selecting 3 preferred audition time slots, as well as answering all the other questions. You will also be asked to attached a headshot photo, to assist the audition panel in their deliberations.

JAM is for young performers aged between 10 and 15

All interested students and families are welcome … it is going to be a BIG year!
Albatross Musical Theatre Company will hold its AGM 7pm on Tuesday 21st February 2023 at the Youth Hall in the Nowra Showground. You are cordially invited to attend, and also encouraged to consider taking on a role on the committee. In order to vote at the AGM, you need to be a financial member of AMTC.
In 2022 AMTC adopted its new constitution which altered the membership process. Members who were financially current in 2022 have been sent an email from the secretary with a link to allow them to pay their membership fees for 2023. Being a 2022 financial member allows you to vote at the upcoming AGM.
If you were a past member but did not pay fees in 2022 you will need to reapply for membership as per the constitution adopted early last year. Our constitution does not allow new memberships on the night of the AGM, so if you wish to vote you should complete your application for membership by the end of this month (January 2023) so your membership application can be considered prior to the AGM, and payment of fees can be arranged. Your membership will remain current for the remainder of 2023 and allow you to vote at the AGM in 2024.
This year there will be other additional benefits in becoming an AMTC member. Come to the AGM to find out more details.
